El cómico británico Russell Brand le ha pedido matrimonio a su novia, la cantante estadounidense Katy Perry, durante una ceremonia espiritual la noche de Año Nuevo nada menos que en la India.
Según una fuente de UsMagazine.com, las vacaciones han sido una sorpresa para la cantante. “Ella le dijo cuánto le gustaba la cultura asiática mientras estaban comiendo curry en Inglaterra, así que quiso sorprenderla“.
La misma fuente ha asegurado que “querían tomar parte en una ceremonia tradicional y pensaron que no había mejor momento que en Nochevieja. La ceremonia generalmente se usa para bendecir a las parejas con la esperanza de que se casen“.
Por eso, ambos quisieron ponerse para la ocasión un traje típico indio y recibieron la bendición a los pies de una montaña en la ciudad de Jaipur, justo antes de la medianoche.
Parece que Russell también quiso comprometerse conforme a la tradición occidental, dándole a Katy un increíble anillo de diamantes con una banda de platino, de Cartier.
Ya se especulaba con la posible pedida de mano desde hace tres semanas, pues se vio al británico comprando el anillo entonces, a pesar de que la pareja sólo lleva saliendo desde el pasado septiembre.
“Katy me ha domesticado. Eso es todo, estoy completamente enamorado“, dijo el cómico a sus amigos. Ahora, la pareja tiene previsto ir a Tailandia a celebrar su compromiso.
